Leaks are continuing to trickle out of Kensington Palace, with new reports of tensions between the Sussexes and the Cambridges coming overnight.

According to The Sun’s royal correspondent Emily Andrews, it’s not Meghan and Kate’s relationship but Harry and William’s that’s causing problems.

In particular, it’s understood Harry has so been protective of Meghan it’s led him to shut William out if he senses any perceived criticism of the former Suits actress.

“It’s my opinion that Harry feels he couldn’t protect his mother, so he’s going all out to protect his wife,” a palace insider said.

“This is his way of atoning. He will brook absolutely no criticism of Meghan — and he is so sensitive he often sees criticism or negativity where there isn’t any.”

Which is exactly what happened when Will, after meeting Meghan for the first time not long after she and Harry started dating, suggested that Harry take things slow.

“Harry went mental,” a source said. “He accused his brother of trying to finish his romance before it had begun. The brothers’ relationship has not really recovered.”

Finally, there’s also the issue that Meghan felt “rebuffed” by Kate when she tried to befriend her.

“Meghan hoped Kate would show her the ropes. But, equally understandably, Kate was busy [with her children]. She didn’t have as much time for her as Meghan would have liked. They were at very different places in their lives.

“Meghan felt quite let down. She had really tried but felt rebuffed, and so just stopped trying.”

It was recently announced Meghan and Harry are moving out of the Kensington Palace grounds to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, ahead of the birth of their child.
