Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s engagement has been what feels like a sadly rare good news story this year. Their googly-eyed love for each other is contagious.

Clearly aware of how much joy their engagement has brought the world, Harry and Meghan are letting the good times roll by sharing some pictures from their engagement photoshoot.

Taken by fashion photographer Alexi Lubomirski on the grounds of Frogmore House in Windsor, the official Kensington Palace Twitter account said the pics are “a way to say thank you” to the public because they are “so grateful for the warm and generous messages they have received during such a happy time in their lives.”

Could these two be any more adorable? Can they please somehow become the leaders of the free world and just, like, fix everything?

Royal portraits typically see women wear simple, conservative outfits, so as to be accessible and not too flashy in front of the public.

Not Meghan. She’s American, she’s a (now former) Hollywood actress, and clearly she wasn’t afraid to be a little extra in her engagement pictures. Why should she?

For the thoroughly modern shots, Markle wore a sheer-bodiced Ralph & Russo gown from the designer’s fall 2017 couture collection. The price tag? USD $75,000, or AUD $97,000.

In the intimate close-up with their faces pressed together, Meghan is wearing a Victoria Beckham cashmere sweater, which would have cost around AUD $900.

Harry and Meghan are shaking things up and we can’t wait to see what they do next.
