This is not a drill. Kylie Jenner has removed her lip filler (well, some of it.)

Taking to Instagram with a notably smaller pout, the youngest Jenner confirmed that she has bid farewell to her career-defining beauty asset: big lips. In a series of snaps posted to Instagram, Jenner’s pout was noticeably more natural, prompting a slew of comments and questions about the whereabouts of that infamous trout pout. So what happened? “I got rid of all my filler,” Jenner wrote with a wide-eyed emoji. Cue the viral hysteria.

It was lips, more specifically big, surgically-enhanced lips, which became her calling card, and it was this which became the springboard for her sell-out Lip Kits range and the Kylie Cosmetics beauty empire.

Jenner, who famously rebuffed any claims of lip enhancement saying it was “lip liner”, finally admitted to using lip fillers in a 2015 episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Now, ironically, Jenner has turned her back on the one thing that launched her career, so to speak. And whilst filler is still palpable in her pout, Jenner’s announcement is a step in the right direction. As a role model for young girls and tweens everywhere, this may be her most powerful statement yet.
