Remember the name Mali Koopman as you will be hearing much more about this unassuming Northern Beaches teen as she takes over the modelling world. The Sydney model has been the breakout star of the Autumn/Winter 2016 collection shows, walking for the top designers at New York and Paris Fashion Weeks.

She garnered attention after appearing for Calvin Klein and 3.1 Phillip Lim in New York, but cemented herself as fashion’s Aussie girl-of-the-moment when she landed the coveted position of opening Celine’s show at Paris Fashion Week. She also walked for the likes of Balenciaga, Mugler, Acne Studios, Nina Ricci and Paco Rabanne, and we expect big things are coming following her stellar show season.

2 more Aussie breakout models to watch

1. FERNANDA LY  You know a model is destined for big things when Louis Vuitton snaps her up exclusively and Won’t. Let. Go. So we’re intrigued by what 2016 holds in store for the 20-year-old Sydney-sider. It has already kicked off with a bang, with Chanel recruiting her for its latest beauty campaign alongside Mica Arganaraz and Lexi Boling to promote its Rouge Coco Stylo lip pens. With her magazine cover-count rising by the month and campaigns rolling in, we can’t wait to see where this floss-haired beauty crops up next.

2. Claudia Todman  Last year the Perth teen was dreaming of taking to Paris’ catwalks, and her wish has already come true, with the state netball champion swapping her sneakers for stilettos at the Paris Haute Couture and Ready-to-Wear collections. She also appeared in Christian Siriano and Aussie label Zimmermann’s AW16 shows at New York Fashion Week. Dior is the ultimate goal, Claudia Todman revealed last year, and after walking for the likes of Victor & Rolf and Issey Miyake, we don’t think it’s a far-off reality for her.
