It’s been a long time coming and the teasers keep rolling in, but we’ve just been given a first glimpse of Rihanna wearing the new Fenty Beauty by Rihanna makeup line – and it’s got us amped for the September launch. A Insti video posted on the Rihstore account sees Rihanna telling a member of the crowd that she’s wearing a highlighter from the upcoming line, set to be available in Sephora this spring.
As a fan shouts out, “What highlighter are you wearing?”, the video shows Rihanna responding: “It’s mine! It’s a secret…” She then taunts the room with news they’ll have to wait until September to find out more. The Insti sneak peek comes almost exactly one year after we first heard news Rihanna was creating a complete makeup collection, after the Kendo division of LVMH Moët Hennesy Louis Vuitton confirmed it had landed a deal for the line.
At the time, Kendo chief executive officer David Suliteanu told WWD, “Fenty Beauty by Rihanna is a beauty rocket ship that will appeal to a huge and diverse global audience. We are aiming for the stars.” Kendo is also the company behind Kat Von D Beauty and Marc Jacobs Beauty, two very successful beauty brands sold in SEPHORA.
But this isn’t the first time we’ve seen a sneak peek of the range, with models at the Fenty x Puma Spring/Summer 2017 runway at Paris Fashion Week debuting the upcoming holographic lip colour – which is set to be the first product to drop in the collection.
Our hot tip: Keep your eyes peeled, because we’re guessing this won’t be the last preview we get of the brand before its launch later this year…
