The follow through from Spring/Summer 2017’s 80’s blush trend has been fast and furious, sweeping its way onto two sets of IT-girl cheeks this week: Kristen Stewart and Rosie Huntington-Whitely. A worthy ambassador for Chanel make-up, Kristen Stewart successfully vibed the French house’s SS17 brighter-is-better blush, philosophy at the New York Film Festival presentation of her latest film, Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.

The actress – who is fast becoming our favourite beauty chameleon – swept flamingo pink blush high on her cheeks, through her temples and across her lids. Undeniably 80’s, Stewart’s signature cool-girl factor assisted in keeping the throwback ‘aim high’ blush technique looking effortless and pretty.

Meanwhile Huntington-Whiteley let her razor-cut bone structure take centre stage via dose peach blush on the apples of her cheeks, straight up towards the hairline. Warmer peach and apricot tones are the most flattering and fool proof way to attempt the 80’s trend and unlike contouring, which requires matte formulas, a subtle flash of iridescence is better when it comes to blush. The only rule? Get high, and blend well with a fluffy brush or damp sponge to blend out harsh edges – the effect should be loud but not leering.
