Today marks exactly one month until Selena Gomez brings her Revival Tour (and great hair) to Australia. She also brings with her a full not-usually-designed-for-the-stage designer wardrobe including Karl Lagerfeld, Sonia Rykiel, Louis Vuitton, Fausto Puglisi, Rodarte, Valentino, The Row and Balenciaga.
“The designers that we were and still are targeting are not typically conventional designers for stage, says the pop star’s fashion director Christian Classen. “And I really dig that.”
In fact, when Classen and Gomez emailed Lagerfeld to ask the fashion titan to be involved in the tour, they were shocked to learn the designer was willing and ready to design his first-ever custom look for Gomez. “When the email came through saying he was thrilled to take the project on, neither of us could believe it!”

Nicholas Ghesquière also designed the most comfortable of comfortable heels “without jeopardising style” for Gomez to work the stage in”, no doubt empowering Gomez in the same way fellow Vuitton ambassador Alicia Vikander says. And as well as bringing fashion centre stage, the 23-year-old has flirted with the idea of recruiting an Australian boyfriend.
During a SnapChat Live Q&A with fans overnight, an Australian tradesman asked the singer is she’s be interested in having an Australian boyfriend in which she replied, “You want to come to my show? I can have an Australian boyfriend.”
Perhaps it wouldn’t be too serious relationship if her comments to James Corden are anything to go by. When the television host and karaoke carpool king asked the singer if she was looking for a boyfriend on June 20, Gomez replied, “Sure, why not? Well, I don’t know, I like to have fun!” Corden replied, “Oh, so you’re saying, you’d like to have a guy in every port?” “Well… not every place!” she coyly laughed.
