In an important relationship milestone for Selena Gomez and The Weeknd, it appears he’s won over her mum.
After The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye shared a photo of he and Selena at the Met Gala on Instagram, some eagle-eyed fans spotted a comment from Selena’s mum on the account.
“Glowing, smiling, looking health [sic] and equal love. Mama is happy XO” it read.
It’s such a parents-on-social-media comment, and the biggest sign of approval The Weeknd could hope for.
Selena and Abel were spotted kissing outside a LA restaurant in early January. Sources later confirmed that their romance had been going on for several months before the sighting, meaning there appeared to be some overlap for The Weeknd between Bella Hadid and Selena.
They kept things low-key for a few months, but recently began posting photos of each other on their Instagram accounts.
