Shailene Woodley was arrested for trespassing on Monday after she attended a peaceful protest – and she streamed the whole thing on Facebook Live.

The Divergent and The Fault In Our Stars actress was with a large group protesting the building of the Dakota Access Pipeline – a pipe that will carry crude oil through four US states – when she was arrested for trespassing.

In the last minutes of the clip on her Facebook page, the 24-year-old gives a play-by-play of what’s happening.

“I was walking back to my RV, which is right there so that we can go back to camp peacefully and they grabbed me by my jacket and said that I was not allowed to continue,” she says. “And they had giant guns and batons and zip ties and they’re not letting me go.”

As she’s being led away she repeatedly asks one of the officers why she’s the only one being arrested, and he eventually answers that it’s because they are able to identity her because of her high profile.

“I’m being arrested,” she says in the video. “I was down there with everybody else. It’s because I’m well known. It’s because I have 40,000 people watching. So everybody knows, we were going to our vehicle, which they had surrounded and waiting for me with giant guns in the giant truck behind them just so they could arrest me.”

TMZ reports that 27 people in total were arrested for criminal trespassing after the peaceful protest. The actress is yet to update her social media accounts following her arrest.

Shailene has been a particularly vocal activist protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline, which she and many others believe could threaten nearby water supplies and the surrounding environment. It’s also opposed by the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe because the pipeline’s path runs close to sacred sites which could be destroyed.

The night before the protest, a federal appeals court denied the tribe’s request for an injunction to block construction of the DAP.
