Classic black sunglasses are just so overrated – for this season at least. These gems – ironically created by one of the most famously minimalist brands in the business – are a demonstration of the go-big-or-go-home mentality for sunglasses right now.

Combining two of the biggest eyewear tends for 2018 – a slim razor shape and bold colour – the thin cats-eye style is fast becoming a go-to for fashion editors and stylists globally.

Available in a range of colours including this royal blue, plus red, lime green and white, and in both classic and mirrored lenses, they make a strong case for dressing from the head down this winter.

“I worked hard to create things that stand the test of time,” said Celine’s creative director at the time they were created, Phoebe Philo. (She’s since left the brand, where Hedi Slimane now holds the head job.)

Time is always a bonus, but for now we’re happy with them standing the test of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australian 2018’s street style paparazzi and the occasional outdoor music festival.
