Whether you see a glitter rainbow, a symbol of pride and love, or just a really kitsch shoe that’s an antidote to any ‘meh’ day, there’s far more to this new incarnation of the iconic Converse Chuck Taylor boot than meets the eye.
For a start, it’s designed by Hollywood music royalty (and almost honourary Aussie by Hemsworth association), Miley Cyrus. Secondly, it raises money for a community that’s close to her heart.
A passionate champion of LGBTQ+ youth causes, the singer collaborated with famous artists including Ionut Radulescu, Liam Donnelly and Rooney, to turn her cute design concepts into a seven-piece capsule collection of shoes and apparel called the Converse Pride Collection by Miley Cyrus. (Side note: all of the artists donated their time.)
A portion of all sales will be donated to global LGBTQ+ charity partners, including Minus18 in Australia, RainbowYOUTH in New Zealand, plus the Happy Hippie Foundation (founded by Cyrus) and It Gets Better Project, both founded in America.
