This season, sharp-edged, razor-slim blades are everything – but contrary to the late Duchess of Windsor’s views, they needn’t cost the earth.
Adam Selman’s The Last Lolita style for Le Specs catapulted this look into the celebrity stratosphere last year, with everyone from Gigi Hadid to Kendall Jenner, Rihanna and Zoë Kravitz sporting the $120 plastic frames. Other affordable eyewear brands, including ROC, have embraced the razor cat-eye aesthetic, ditto edgy luxury labels Louis Vuitton, Marques’Almeida and Prada.
And remember those wrap-around blade Oakley frames that were huge in the ’90s? Back with a vengeance. The ideal would be a pair of the originals (the 2018 Holy Grail of shades), but there are plenty of new-season tributes at all price points if your dad’s garage drawers come up empty. Here’s to narrow victories.
