Ariana Grande is being, forgive the pun, grilled, after trying to fix her misspelled Japanese tattoo – but only making it worse.

In case you missed it, yesterday Ariana shared a photo of her latest tattoo which was meant to read “7 Rings”, the title of her latest single, but instead read as “barbecue grill”.

Now, in a scenario so outrageous you couldn’t make it up, Grande took to Instagram to reveal that she went back to her tattoo artist after speaking to her Japanese tutor.

Her tutor advised her how to fix the ink so it would read as initially intended, “7 Rings”. But when Grande shared a photo of her updated tattoo on Instagram … it was still wrong. As per Buzzfeed, it now reads “Japanese barbecue finger”.

Maybe … I don’t know. Call me crazy, but maybe we should only get tattoos in languages we actually understand? You know, since they’re permanent? Wild idea, I know.

On the upside, Ariana probably already has some laser tattoo removal appointments scheduled to get rid of her several inkings dedicated to ex-fiance Pete Davidson.

Keep your chin up, Ari. It’s only February – 2019 can only get better from here.
