If your home is beginning to resemble an episode of hoarders, chances are you’re due for a spring (or summer) clean. Clothes are easy – what you can’t sell or pass on to friends can be donated, but beauty is a little more challenging. But if you’re sitting on more foundations than you have facial real estate, there’s a feel-good way to clear out your stash.

Retailer Sportsgirl has teamed up with Look Good Feel Better – an organisation that supports women undergoing cancer treatment and all its appearance-altering side effects. From October 28, you can donate all unused Sportsgirl beauty products to a participating retail store. There will be a pink bin specifically for collection, and all donations will go to Look Good Feel Better in the form of a confidence kit for one of the many workshops held annually. All types of beauty products are accepted, just so long as they’re unopened and unused. So rather than holding on to wrong shades or impulse buys until they expire, share them with women who will be sure to put them to good use.

While there’s only five stores in which you can currently donate nationally (Bondi, Bourke Street, Rundle Mall, Queen Street, and Booragoon) the retailer said in an official release that the plan is to roll the initiative out across more stores permanently in the new year. Head to Sportsgirl for more information, or Look Good Feel Better for other ways you might be able to help.
