Following yesterday’s protest in which 100 women posed nude for artist Spencer Tunick outside the site of the imminent Republican National Convention, Stephen Colbert this morning crashed the stage at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, while impersonating Caesar Flickerman – Stanley Tucci’s cartoonish character from the Hunger Games films.

Before welcoming everyone to the “2016 Republican National Hungry for Power Games” (apparently a reference to a bit from The Late Show that Colbert has been committing to since September), Colbert found enough time to get in a dig in at Donald Trump’s recently announced running mate, Mike Pence, by blacking out in the process. He then continued:

“So it is my honour to hereby launch and begin the 2016 Republican National Hungry for Power Games!” At which point, a guard appears to escort Colbert off-stage mid-gavel, giving him just enough time to seal the deal with a final quip.

“Look, I know I’m not supposed to be up here. But let’s be honest, neither is Donald Trump.”
Watch what happened below, before the Republican National Convention begins in earnest and the prospect of an actual Hunger Games draws ever closer to reality.
