Open any magazine, attend any fashion show, scroll any website, and you’ll likely see Roberta Pecoraro, @robertapecoraro. The model needs little introduction to anyone au fait with the fashion world, capturing their attention back in 2017 when a young Roberta burst onto the scene with that now-iconic shag, swiftly becoming a household name both locally and abroad. With both her sister and mother working in the industry (older sister Jess is a stylist and her mother a designer), fashion seemed a natural progression for the former dancer, connecting the Pecoraro women. With a set of legs that almost touch the sky and striking features, Roberta’s transition into modelling seemed all but inevitable.

For an industry which now not only uses Instagram but indeed relies on it, it makes sense that Roberta also shares an affinity with the app, fostering her love of fashion through visual snippets of her bustling, busy career while remaining true to herself. From candid backstage snaps at Fashion Week to off-peak style shots imbued with that model-off-duty vibe, Roberta presents a glimpse into the glamorous – and not-so glamorous – aspects of her life. And while she serves Instagram well (one quick scroll of @robertapecoraro will feed any fashion habit), the app also gives back, her Explore page proving a haven of interesting, aspirational content which makes her rethink style both differently and creatively.

Here, with the help of GRAZIA stylist Patrick and Instagram Explore, Roberta reimagines her classic ‘casting’ white singlet with looks that are both formal and fun. Because there’s nothing like a little #insta #inspo to elevate your style.

trackside
Taking Roberta trackside, Patrick found an image of @elyse.knowles in a white singlet and ecru pant using the ‘Style’ tab, but updated the trouser with a tailored track pant in rust. Tapping the rusty shade in a two-tone boot, he also slung a tie-dye bumbag from Nanushka, a style Roberta loves for its comfort and ease, “it just makes life so much easier!”

post-casting party
For Roberta’s post-casting-turns-party look, Patrick sought inspiration from an account he follows, @cassieteix, who had layered two white singlets with a leather jacket in hand. Instead, he refashioned the leather into a long-sleeve mini dress and layered it over the singlet, giving more breadth to the outfit. He finished off the look with a fun pop of colour in the form of a mint boot and Roberta was ready to party.

#FORMALWEAR
Roberta was still hoping to incorporate her trusty white singlet yet elevate it for more formal affairs like after-work dinners. Using @stylezagreb as his muse, Patrick opted for a very on-trend boiler suit in houndstooth, a style Roberta has been eager to try for a long time but found it overwhelming because of its structure and shape. But when pared back with the white singlet, it opened up the look keeping it both fresh and chic – and still formal enough for a nice dinner.

ray of #streetstyle sunshine
“I feel fabulous!” says Roberta of Patrick’s sunny take on #streetstyle dressing. Inspired by style queen Patricia Manfield – @heir – who looked every bit the tangerine dream, Patrick decided to give it a “lemon twist” by squeezing a zingy palette of citrusy lemon and lime, adding a relaxed yellow shirt and printed floral mini skirt by Zimmermann.
