To usher in the new year, model Taylor Hill let her hair down with wild, loose, slightly wet waves.
Gently raked through and tousled with body, Taylor’s waves were not only the perfect party hair, but also the hairstyle we’ll be rocking all summer long. A riff on 80s disco hair, they were wild and imperfect and full of volume, flicked over at the crown for extra va-va-voom.
For those with naturally curly hair, the trick to Taylor’s waves is a heavy-handed dose of mousse (bodyifing is best) and a diffuser (the Dyson Supersonic Diffuser attachment is great). Work moussed hair like an accordion back and forth into the diffuser then finish with a mouldable hairspray like Sam McKnight’s Modern Hairspray.
But for those straighty-one-eighty types, you will need a flat-edged, small-barrelled tong like the GHD Curve Creative Curl Wand. Bend and flick all over and spritz with plenty of curl spray, or something with a little grit and volume. Softly muss hair with fingers, keeping it a little messy and wet in finish.
