In what seems like mere moments since Taylor Swift partied with the girls for Gigi Hadid’s 24th Birthday party last night, the superstar has taken to the red carpet for the Time 100 Gala in New York City tonight. The event, which is currently in full swing, will honour Swift as one of their most influential people cover stars and even see her take to the stage to perform.

Her dress tonight is a J. Mendel pastel, princess gown, which she even teamed with a Disney-esque flower headpiece. Even Swift’s own Instagram post, which sees her dramatically dashing through a garden, the dress dancing behind her in the breeze, is old school Swift romanticism.

So what does this mean? Is she returning to a life of country-style singer-songwriting? Is the heavy-beat-dancing Swift of the now hanging up her Reputation tour hot pants? According to the the goss-vine, the pastel choice is exceptionally deliberate. The look forming part of an organised hype for a new project release on April 26. Take one look at her currently curated, candy-coloured Instagram page and the direction becomes obvious.

Every guess is that we’ll be hearing new music from the superstar in a couple of days, and all this candy teasing will be explained. Until then, Alexa play Love Song
