Sydney wine culture has really been on the up and up lately, with boutique cellars, minimal intervention wines and orange drops popping up on street corners and menus everywhere. Also here to refine our palette is Taylors Summer House of Shiraz. Held at a private residence in Sydney’s Point Piper, the experience is all about temperature-led drinking, namely chilled reds on warm days.

Red is by default considered a winter wine, but Taylors is on a valiant mission to prove that lighter bodied reds – from shiraz to cabernet – are best served chilled, harbour-side and from the pool deck of expensive Sydney real estate. The immersion is 90 minutes long, and begins by a private water taxi transfer from Rose Bay, tasting and food pairings (prepared by Masterchef alumni Will Stewart), and a lesson or two on the art of the chilled red. So grab a pal, your SPF, and set sail this weekend. Tickets are available now, and there will be two sessions available from 12pm – 8pm on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 December 2019 only.
