Coloured mascara has had somewhat of a chequered past. First it’s in. Then it’s out. Then it’s very out. Then it’s kind of back in. But if there is someone to truly sell it to us, it’s Lupita Nyong’o. And that she has.
Arriving at the 2019 Golden Globes with spectacular electric blue mascara (and eyeliner to match), Nyong’o has rekindled our love affair with the coloured wand.
For Nyong’o, interestingly, the cobalt blue mascara was painted just on the outer fake lashes, which sat with drama in a neat little brick on either eye. The charged blue-violet colour was ramped up with eyeliner of the same shade on her waterline; another bold stamp of colour which only made the coloured lashes pop even more.
To truly colour your world like Nyong’o and make a bold eye statement, find an eyeliner in the matching hue to your coloured mascara of choice.
