Céline Dion aside, the star of the streets of Haute Couture 2019 was in fact a leather belt by Valentino.
Cinched around the fashionable waists of the style set, Valentino’s Garavani VLogo belt with its wide leather band and bold gold “V” was seen on many an influencer in both black and brown.
Australian blogger extraordinaire Nicole Warne wore hers to Maison Valentino’s couture show, teaming the belt with Valentino pumps and a clutch bag featuring the same striking hardware, along with a Valentino lace sheath dress with voluminous bubble sleeves.
Then there was German fashion frauline Caroline Daur, who indulged a moment of haute glamour posing in front of of a gilded mirror and glinting chandelier in the Hôtel Salomon de Rothschild. Daur wore hers with an all-black ensemble (also Valentino), including a tulle-trimmed skirt which fanned out with drama and studded points (an update on the classic Rockstud).
The belt is yet another example of brash logomania, and much like its flashy designer counterparts is just the thing to add a little glamour to an otherwise simple ensemble. Wear your designer heart on your sleeve (or around your waist) with the following.
