The closing show – Camilla – was the most spectacular show of the week. The set designer Tony Assness transformed the room into a scene straight from Japan complete with ceiling to floor Camilla prints, a cherry blossom tree and a performance by traditional musicians The Satsuki Odamura Koto Ensemble and Taikoz ensemble. True to Camilla’s style, this collection focused on Japan and its feminine rituals; albeit this cool twist is a departure from the usual Camilla Kaftan. It has a streetwear vibe.
MY FAVOURITE LOOKS FROM MY FAVOURITE SHOWS:
I need this Camilla and Marc jumpsuit in my life. Perfect addition for my work wardrobe.
My favourite print has been this one at Acler. Pastel checks and pants are becoming my favourite piece to wear.
My fave styling trick would be the new ways to tie something up around the waist. See: Acler, Ten Pieces.
Still Still Studio showed off some hero sparkle pieces. Seriously need those pants and star print dress in my spring evening event wardrobe.
MY FAVOURITE OFF-RUNWAY MOMENT OF THE WEEK:
Ten Pieces’ Rude collection ended with the models freestyle dancing. I loved that the designers casted models who fitted the vibe of the clothes and it seemed off-the-cuff and not rehearsed which I loved.
I also loved the Double Rainbouu’s show at the Landsdowne Hotel. I like to see brands departing from showcase in a creative way that shows the culture behind their label.
Romance was Born transported us to a cool underground bar in Paris with its evening intimate dinner event at Hubert Restaurant. Every detail was thought of down to the seating cards which were boarding passes. The designs were truly amazing with lace, silks, embellishments and prints.
THE COLOUR TREND:
Mint green. After a few seasons of continual pink-on-pink, I am loving that mint green has been introduced as the colour for spring. See: Karla Spetic, Alice McCall, Macgraw, Matches Fashion.
MY OUTFITS:
Outfit 1: Manning Cartell dress with Charles and Keith Bag, Rag & Bone boots.
Outfit 2: Romance was Born (printed outfit with embellished denim jacket) Rag & Bone boots.
Outfit 3: By Johnny Polka dot top and Bec & Bridge pants with Jaggar heels.
