It was a big night of fashion in New York City last night. Attending the premiere of “Little Women” at the Museum of Modern Art, Emma Watson, Saoirse Ronan, Florence Pugh and Eliza Scanlen made a splash in the fashion stakes wearing awe-inspiring pieces straight off the Spring / Summer and Fall runways.
First there was our favourite feminist prophet, actress and activist Emma Watson, who made a bold fashion choice in Balenciaga Spring / Summer 2020, one side bravely tucked into a thigh-high velvet boot, adding an unexpected kick (literally) to the sweeping macabre gown. Then there was Florence Pugh, swathed in brilliant blue Valentino Couture, the dramatic taffeta mini dress recalled the glorious, gaudy ’80s, both fun and frivolous. Australian actress Eliza Scanlen was next, in high-necked, balloon-sleeved Khaite from Fall 2019, the spectacular white gown was adorned with an embellished belt and finished with a slick of glossy peach across lids. And last but most certainly not least, Saoirse Ronan in Gucci Spring / Summer 2020. The smock dress featured sheer organza sleeves and an embellished bib neck, which Ronan completed with ’60s accessories: a block boot and winged eye.
Little Women who made a very big impact on the red carpet, take your cues for the upcoming party season from Hollywood’s new vanguard and go forth with bold colour and bounteous volume.
