Australian EXTRA television host Renee Bargh attends the 70th Emmy Awards at Microsoft Theater on September 17, 2018 in Los Angeles, California.

John Legend + Chrissy Teigen

BARGH: “I don’t like to say #couplegoals but they are the definition of that. I’ve been around them a tonne, I’ve hung out with Chrissy before as well and with her, what you see and what you hear is what you get. As a pair, they could not be more genuine or more in love. They are just so amazing. They respect each other so much and they know how to have fun. Last night, Chrissy was losing her voice so we just said hello and interviewed John on his own. I talked to him about how Chrissy is to never be outdone by her husband amid the news that her last name has been mis-pronounced this entire time! She’s hilarious.”

GRAZIA: Where can we find a love like John Legend?

BARGH: “I remember saying to Chrissy years ago, ‘I want what you guys have.’ And she was like, ‘You’ve got to be with the nice guy, that’s what it is. Eventually, you just get sick of these terrible guys and I decided I wanted a nice sweet nerd.’ I don’t know if I classify John Legend as a nerd, but sure [laughs].”

Mandy Moore

GRAZIA: Mandy Moore is really having a moment.

BARGH: “She really is. Talk about America’s sweetheart. She’s so divine and lovely. You feel like she’s such a good, sweet girl. You can’t imagine her ever being messy or drunk. She’s so put together. I love her. She looked beautiful last night.

GRAZIA: Do you remember her single In My Pocket?

BARGH: Do you remember her single Candy? I was so obsessed, I wanted a bright VW just like the one in that music video. Even back then in the days of Britney Spears, she was always the nice girl. In Hollywood, true colours eventually come out and Mandy has never had a scandal or anything dark or crazy. She’s genuinely a kind, sweet girl.”

Jessica Biel + Justin Timberlake

GRAZIA: This was Jessica’s night…

BARGH: “It really was and she should have won. The Sinner is the most incredible show and she is the most under-rated actress. I don’t think anyone knew she had it in her and then she produces the show as well. I love Regina King and am happy she won but I really think Jessica was supposed to take that award. I think everybody thought she was going to! She won in the style stakes though. She nails the effortless fashion vibe and did in the Ralph and Russo gown, it was stunning.

GRAZIA: He’s just so supportive of her as well…

BARGH: Jessica and Justin are so supportive of one another. He was just gushing at how proud he is of her. He told me how he watched her read the book and then take it from nothing and make it into something. He said she poured her whole heart into it. They’ve got an incredible relationship. They’ve been through a lot, they’ve been together a long time and honestly, when you’re around them, they just seem like teenagers who have just fallen in love and it’s the cutest thing ever. I stand next to them swooning.”

Tiffany Haddish

BARGH: “She’s so hilarious, I love her so much. I could stand and listen to her talk for days. She’s just brilliant. You know what it is about her? She just really doesn’t care what anybody thinks and it must be such a liberating thing. You never know what’s going to come out of her mouth, she’s not worried about offending people but she keeps it all really positive. She’s not a mean girl, she’s not dissing people. She’s so out there and self-deprecating and she’ll say anything! She’s probably my most favourite person to interview at the moment.”

GRAZIA: Remember when she broke the news Brad Pitt had asked her out?

BARGH: “[Laughs] I think she wanted Brad Pitt to ask her out. I’m not sure he did. She even told [Extra host] Mario [Lopez] that she’s always had a crush on him so she’s basically admitted to having a crush on every man in Hollywood. I don’t blame her! I just find her hilarious, I can’t wait to see who she ends up with.”

Kate McKinnon

GRAZIA: This is another hilarious woman.

BARGH: “She’s a dream. I did interview her, she was rushing through as she was doing the opening number at the ceremony. She looked gorgeous actually in the black dress, her waist was tiny. She is another one who is always on. She comes to parties and she steps up and she’s firing jokes and is hilarious. It really was the SNL night last night, it belonged to them.”

Millie Bobby Brown

BARGH: “She was divine. She is getting more and more beautiful as she gets older. I feel like she’s just gorgeous. We love her on the show. I cannot imagine walking red carpets at that age, she always kills it in the fashion stakes but its age appropriate which is important. If there was evidence of what I was wearing at her age, it would be so embarrassing! I’m excited to see what she does next.”

Alison Janney

BARGH: “She is an actress who has been in the business for so long but is it no way shape or form jaded or bitter. She is so humble, gracious, kind, giving with her time, so present in interviews, I could go on. I was so happy she had her moment with I, Tonya earlier in the year because she deserved that. She’s such an amazing actress but also an incredible human, divine.”

GRAZIA: Did you ever see The Object Of My Affection With Allison Janney, Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd?

BARGH: “Yes! A long time ago!”

GRAZIA: Her character in that film stuck with me and I think that just shows just how good she was back then. So I’m so glad she’s having her moment now.

Sarah Paulson

BARGH: “I said to her, I can’t imagine an awards show without her. She loves fashion, style and she carries herself so well. She’s so well-spoken and eloquent. The black feathers were a trend last night, there were a few women rocking that.”

Emilia Clarke

BARGH: “I didn’t love Emilia’s dress and I was shocked because I usually love what she wears. I loved her hair and make-up, I thought she looked beautiful. I didn’t get a chance to speak with her last night but she’s always a sweetheart. The dress wasn’t my favourite but she still looked gorgeous.”

Claire Foy

BARGH: “Oh my gosh, I was obsessed with Claire’s hair. Her hair and makeup were so classic and I’m so glad she won because now she’s passing on The Crown to someone else.

GRAZIA: And she’s getting paid properly now!

BARGH: “Yes! I love that she got to have that moment as she’s exiting the show. I think she’s very English and classy and she’s exactly what you’d want her to be. She’s playing a Royal!”

Scarlett Johansson

BARGH: “I saw her arrive and she was obviously there to support her boyfriend. She always looks great too. Last night, I have to say, there wasn’t anyone who took any crazy risks. There’s wasn’t anyone who really went completely out of the box. There wasn’t really anything people were talking about.”
