Tom Hiddleston and a blonde friend star in the new Gucci Mens campaign
Last week we saw Brit acting royalty Vanessa Redgrave steal the limelight in Gucci’s spectacularly beautiful Womens Cruise 2017 advertising campaign (see here for a refresher).
This week, in keeping with the creative director Alessandro Michele’s current obsession with all things both traditionally British and wildly ornate, the brand’s new Men’s Cruise campaign stars an equally high-impact English star – and who makes backless furry loafers and Mary Jane buckle-ups look manly, no less.

Rumoured Bond hopeful, Tom Hiddleston – he of past Taylor Swift, Night Manager and Thor set gossip fodder – plays the part of an sophisticated and slightly eccentric Lord in the set of images. Unlike Redgrave, who was surrounded by a bevy of punk-vibe pretty youth in her Gucci campaign shots, The Night Manager star has nothing but a handful of Afghan hounds as company.
Despite looking like it’s set home of some silver spoon-feed British Lord, the photos were actually taken in Los Angeles at the luxurious estate of the late American artist and set designer Tony Duquette. Whether or not the actor plans to swap the trademark grey lace-up brogues he sported in almost every Taylor dating snap for a pair of embellished Gucci slip-ons is yet to be seen. We live in hope.
