To say Adriana Lima is emblematic of the Victoria’s Secret brand is like stating cheese definitely goes with wine. But according to eagle-eyed fans – and one cryptic Instagram post from the subject at hand – the supermodel’s VS days might be over. It appears after 18 years on the pink runway, it has just dawned on Lima that her job involves vanity of some description on any given day.

“I had received a call for the possibility of filming a sexy video of me to be posted and shared in social media,” Lima begins. “Even though I have done many of this type, something had changed in me, when a friend approached me to share that she was unhappy with her body, then it made me think…. that everyday in my life, I wake up thinking, how do I look? Was I going to be accepted in my job? And in that moment I realized that majority of woman probably wake up every morning trying to fit in a stereotype that society/social media/fashion etc imposed…. I thought that’s not a way of living and beyond that…. that’s not physically and mentally healthy, so I decided to make that change….. I will not take of my clothes anymore for a empty cause..” [sic].

We presume the “empty cause” is Victoria’s Secret as Lima simultaneously unfollowed the brand and it’s senior creative director Ed Razek. She also unfollowed all the winged angels including best friend Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel, Elsa Hosk, Taylor Hill, Jasmine Tookes, Romee Strijd, Stella Maxwell, Behati Prinsloo, Josephine Skriver and Lais Ribeiro.

It’s a sure-fire clue the 36-year-old supermodel has parted ways with the lingerie giant but after claiming she was going for the twenty year milestone just recently, is there more to this story?
