One would imagine Victoria Beckham to have a glam squad to rival that of a Kardashian, or the Queen. But, it turns out Vicky B is just as normal as the rest of us (well, kind of) and does her own makeup, using her own makeup (not so normal).

Calling on the social media Gods to endorse her upcoming Estée Lauder range, Beckham took to Instagram to share a snippet of her “go-to look”, with her entire (and very intimate) beauty tutorial on YouTube. Dressed in nothing but a satiny black kimono (with the strategic dangling of her twinkling Boy Embellished Jacket in the background) with hair wrapped high in a fluffy towel, Beckham gives us her beauty interpretation of London’s eye.

“This is my go-to look, sometimes during the day, but most definitely when I’m on the red carpet.”

Revealing exactly how to get her “perfect sexy, smudgy London eye”, it is a look we as the public know her best for – sooty eyed, sweaty skin and a nude lip. In this particular tutorial, the designer formerly known as Posh gives eager beauty fans a step-by-step of her signature eye.

She starts with a white shadow from her Eye Palette in Blanc, Noir, Gris and Bordeaux, and interestingly uses her fingers to apply (much like fellow Estée ambassador Kendall Jenner in her beauty tutorial), “I’m going so start by applying this with my finger and I love how it plays with the light and how the light bounces off this white. Putting it onto my hand, so I can really build up the colour.” First tip: get handsy.

Secondly, she’s no straight-shooter. “Rather than having a straight line, I think it’s nice if you have a little bit of a dip, I think it opens out the eye even more. I’m going to work it along the top, the texture is incredible and it really means you can build up the colour.” Then Becks goes bold, playing with colour, albeit ever so slightly. “With a slightly bigger brush, I’m going to get this beautiful colour here (the burgundy) and literally just dust it along the crease of my eye. This really gives an intense look but without closing up the eye.” Next up; the fun, dirty part. “Then I’m going to take the smudgy Matte Eyeliner in Graphite” – she proceeds to shake it like a Martini, obviously a shaken not stirred girl – “and I’m going put it underneath my eye and work it in” – again using her hands, an interesting move so close to the waterline.

“To complete this London look I’m actually going to use the black liner – it’s super, super sexy – I cannot live without this eyeliner, and I love how easily it goes on.” Note to beauty self: stock up on Eye Kajal In Black Saffron Vanille. And to finish? “I’m going to use my Eye Ink Mascara, and when you start to apply this mascara, what you’re going to love is how much product you actually get on the wand, so you really can paint the lashes, almost individually if you choose to, especially along the bottom. Hold it vertically and work your way along the bottom lashes to get a lot of product on there.” Perhaps our favourite VB pro tip thus far: run along the waterline vertically, as oppose to brushing upwards and downwards.

“Now I have the perfect VB smoky eye, and I’m red carpet ready.”

And we are, too. For drinks maybe, not the red carpet.
