When Victoria Beckham first collaborated with Estée Lauder three years ago, the product was so good, it sold out within weeks. I hoarded my Morning Aura cream – a pearlescent primer-come-moisturiser – for a whole year, careful not to squeeze too hard as to waste any product. I only squeezed that little bit harder one year later, when news of a second collaboration spread. Along with the glorious Aura cream, were 14 limited-edition products which Beckham herself conceived from her own beauty go-tos (other personal favourites included the perfect orange-red lipstick, Chilli Sunset, and a warm, matte bronzer). According to all reports, she was very involved in the process, painstakingly so. From the packaging, which riffed on old-fashioned cigar holders she had collected through the years, to the formulations and finish of the actual product, Beckham was hands-on in all aspects.

Beckham has spoken openly about about her unashamed passion for beauty; a love for makeup and skincare she shares frequently on her social channels. So with all this in mind, it comes as no surprise that yesterday – after her proper but definitely not prim show at the Tate Modern – she announced she will be launching an in-house beauty line this Fall (our Spring). Much like the designers before her (Tom Ford, Marc Jacobs, Giorgio Armani – all who built beauty empires from fashion), Victoria Beckham’s diffusion line will come by way of beauty; a dedicated range of makeup, skincare, fragrance and a “wellness” skew.

With a freshly launched Youtube channel with the help of friend Derek Blasberg, we can expect a slew of beauty tutorials from the former Spice Girl. The perfect platform to share her makeup and skin tidbits, it’s said to be an honest, frank insight into the not-always posh life of Victoria Beckham. As for that beauty line, we wait.
