It’s the role of every model’s dreams, but it seems the path to becoming an Angel is one fraught with more hardship than the charmed position lets on.

According to Fashionista, four of the models tapped to walk in Shanghai for this year’s Victoria’s Secret show have been denied the crucial Chinese visas enabling them to actually enter the country.

The models reportedly affected all hail from either Russia or Ukraine. They include Julia Belyakova, Kate Grigorieva, Dasha Khlystun and Irina Sharipova, two of whom (Belyakova and Khylstun) are first time walkers for the global brand that has catapulted many an unknown model to ‘super’ status.

China’s strict visa requirements have proven to be revelatory for eagle-eyed followers of the show. News of the visa debacle was broken by a fan account on Instagram, with @vsmodelspain publishing an Instagram story of messages sent between their account and Khylstun’s via DM.

And that’s not forgetting the speculation that abounded last month over whether or not Harry Styles and Taylor Swift would be performing at the show following a Shanghainese government bureau announcing the clearance of their visa applications.

The rumoured news of the visa denial comes less than two weeks out from when the show is due to be filmed on location on Monday, November 20. We can’t imagine that this latest visa saga is as positive for Victoria’s Secret as the last. Now the only question is who will step up to don the inimitable outfits reserved for each of the four models no longer walking?

Who are the 4 Victoria’s Secret models who’ve been denied?
