It’s rare that a cover does the original song justice, but it does happen – as Miley Cyrus has proved with her rendition of Ariana Grande’s No Tears Left To Cry.

Cyrus was accompanied by her Nothing Breaks Like A Heart collaborator Mark Ronson to perform Grande’s hit at the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, and she delivered an emotional version that will, somewhat ironically, cause some tears to be cried.

Miley got the ultimate compliment after the video went live – approval from Ariana herself. The pop star tweeted a link to the clip, adding:

“I love that voice and soul sm [so much].”

We have to agree.

Miley and Ariana share a mutual admiration of one another. Three years ago they sang Crowded House’s Don’t Dream It’s Over for Cyrus’ Happy Hippy Presents series, and last year, they performed it together on stage at Grande’s One Love Manchester benefit concert, following the attack on her concert there in 2017.

Love to see that sisterhood.
