If we were invited to a garden party, we’d hope it to be Alessando Michele’s. Gucci pearls strewn across snaking Rangoon Creep. Rose thorns threaded with grosgrain bows. That iconic GG splayed whimsically beside delicate Jasmine. Chantilly lace and Italian lurex and logo-printed silk amongst a sea of soft wheat and sprawling fern. A bucolic yet stylish wonderland to behold; each bite rich in opulence and maximalism, it would be sumptuous, to say the very least.

And to celebrate Michele’s final olfactory chapter in the Bloom narrative, he has done exactly that; thrown a garden party to end all garden parties, and invited some very famous – and very fabulous – friends.

Welcome to the Gucci Bloom Nettare Di Fiori garden party, which, unlike other garden parties set in the sprawling outdoors, is housed indoors, within the walls of a majestic apartment (a very Michele move, to say the least). But, don’t let the walls and floors fool you. Through the cracks of floorboards, flowers have sprouted forth, plants have grown upwards and sideways and every which way, even weeds make a fashionable appearance, culminating in a beautiful mess of overgrown flora and fauna that entwines the space with beauty. Then, actress Dakota Johnson, photographer Petra Collins and model Hari Nef sit and take tea. It’s a garden party dreams – albeit wild ones – are made of; surreal, fantastical, intimate.

But the most important thing to note, is the scent. It’s overwhelming. It’s all-encompassing. It’s beautiful. It’s roses – rich and fragrant. It’s Osmanthus flower – peachy and soft. It’s Jasmine, Rangoon Creeper and Tuberose – the heart of the original Bloom fragrance – delicate and floral. But, it’s not all sunshine and rose petals. A deeper, woodier scent pervades, too. Patchouli, Musk and Ginger appeals to our subversive side, slightly darker in character – like Michele’s Gucci girls – mysterious, enigmatic and sensual.

The final chapter of Michele’s extravagant garden party, Gucci Bloom Nettare Di Fiori could be his best yet. Step inside his latest olfactory garden party, take a tea, and smell the roses. They’re glorious.
