One of the most cult-cherished TV stars on the planet, Rachel Bilson (ie. Summer Roberts from 2003’s The OC) was spotted (literally) on the set of American TV show Extra on Monday. The star, who is now 36 years old and a mother of one, has emerged more glowing than ever following her separation from partner Hayden Christensen late last year.
The actress and self-confessed fashion junkee, is back in business and on the promotional trail for her new crime series Take Two, co-starring Eddie Cibrian and premiering in the US today (June 21st).
On set, Bilson’s fresh face, slick ponytail and rosy lip were immaculate, but it was her 80s-cut, polka-dot mini-dress by Self Portrait (shop now) that gave us both Summer Roberts throwback vibes and all the inspiration for our next party-night look.
Polka-dots are back and it’s not just Hart of Dixie-star Bilson that has been repping this all-time, good-time print. British pop star Dua Lipa absolutely killed it on Tuesday in an ab-flashing, ladybird-inspired two-piece by Ukrainian designer Marianna Senchina (shop now) while actress Olivia Munn casually wandered LAX in a 50s-cut romper in classic red and white from ASOS that costs just $57 (see gallery below).
So, what more sartorial persuasion do you need? Spots are hot once again. While you might want to tweak the styling for our southern winter, this Saturday night why not go polka-dot-retro…and no need to break the bank.
