Rihanna was the woman of the hour at her 5thannual Diamond Ball in New York City on Thursday night, the yearly fundraiser for her charity the Clara Lionel Foundation.

Walking the red carpet at Cipriani Wall Street in a form-fitting black and white Givenchy Haute Couture evening gown, she looked incredible. But it’s her words to a reporter at the event that have had the internet buzzing ever since with rumours she’s pregnant.

“I’m a black woman,” Rihanna, 31, told Essence.

“I come from a black woman who came from a black woman who came from a black woman and I’m going to give birth to a black woman,” she said.

“That’s who I am. It’s the core of who I am in spirit and in DNA. And I always stand up for what I believe in and who I love and who I know, who I respect.”

The comment “I’m going to give birth to a black woman” has Rihanna’s fans convinced she let slip that she was pregnant, either by accident or as a hint.

The Wild Thoughts singer has been in a relationship with Saudi billionaire Hassan Jameel since 2017, so it’s not entirely possible she’s ready to start a family.

But, hold up. According to TMZ, an insider close to Rihanna has shut it down.

“Sources with direct knowledge say sorry, she’s not pregnant,” the website reports.

Rihanna did introduce the world to a baby of sorts this week; she unveiled her latest Savage X Fenty lingerie collection in Brooklyn during New York Fashion Week to a packed crowd that included Cara Delevingne, Halsey and Gigi and Bella Hadid.
