We spent some time with Winnie Harlow on Tuesday in Shanghai. The 24-year-old supermodel was walking for Tommy Hilfiger as an ambassador to this season’s capsule collection created with Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton. “Tommy was so much fun to work with. He’s so cool, so warm-hearted and the life of the party,” she said. Straight after the show, she was a on flight across the Pacific ocean to New York City to elevate a little Australian brand who’d come to the Big City.

On Thursday Harlow closed for Australian label Nana Judy’s first New York Fashion Week show at Spring Studios in Manhattan. Josephine Skriver was also booked and having two of the most sought-after models on their debut runway was a huge coup for the Melbourne-founded streetwear label. Showcasing a monochrome palette, GRAZIA’s NY-based team saw metallic bomber jackets, androgynous tailored pants, reimagined tassels (a la their 2012/13 range) and all accented with metal detailing. A Dalmatian probably named Pongo even hit the runway, the show piece for the Instagram-savvy front row (Hello, Nico Tortorella).

“Basics with a twist is what Nana Judy does best and their debut at New York Fashion Week highlights this well,” says GRAZIA’s Stylist and Fashion Office Manger Patrick Zackiewicz from New York. “Denim either updated with zippers or chains, the men’s denim jacket is my pick. This collection shows how Australians can do streetwear just as well as the NYC crowd.”

The brand’s NYFW presence comes as the creative director Glenn Coleman plans to open a stand-alone store in Los Angeles soon, the United States being the natural next step for the in-demand label which was founded in 2006. Nana Judy is currently stocked in Bloomingdales and Saks Fifth Avenue in the States.

Harlow also was seen the same day auditioning for the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and attending the Front Row Daily Awards where she picked up an award. What a whirlwind of a woman!
