For the woman who likes a dash of exclusivity with her accessible, everyday fashion, high street store Witchery has created a new collection with high end fabrics that taps the kind of attention-to-detail design approach usually reserved for big-name designer clothing with equally big price tags.

Aptly called Limited Edition, the range – which includes amongst other things a pink pants suit, floral playsuit and one-shouldered mini – bridges that largely unoccupied space with fashion between high street and high end, with a cost point ranging from $110 up to $700. Only 500 of each piece will be created.

Why the price tag? “Our Limited Edition collection is very high end,” says Gavin Gage, head of design and creative for Witchery. “Fabrics are premium, finishes are extremely high-quality, and often even crafted by hand. The collection also features intricate details such as concertina pleats, covered buttons and a specially designed floral print, the range’s palette also reflects seasonal runway trends.” Each piece will be numbered 1 of 500, to drive home its limited run.

The idea, trialled with a footwear product earlier this year that brought commercial success, signals a new approach from the popular affordable fashion brand. “Earlier this year we created a leather boot which was limited in number, and our customers absolutely loved it,” says Gage. “It was then we realised the Witchery woman loves a collector’s item and doesn’t want to have the same pieces as everyone else.

“I think this collection will appeal to our fashion-forward customers who are seeking unique pieces for special occasions.”

The collection will launch in store and online on August 8.
