You will no doubt recall there was a serious, vicious backlash to the declaration by Forbes that Kylie Jenner is the world’s youngest self-made billionaire.

Many argued the 21-year-old just isn’t “self-made”, given the extreme wealth of her family and the privilege of starring in a reality show since she was a young teen.

But Jenner is steadfast: she is self-made, she insists.

“There’s really no other word to use other than self-made because that is the truth,” she insisted while speaking to Interview.

“That is the category that I fall under.

“I am a special case because before I started Kylie Cosmetics, I had a huge platform and lots of fans. [But] I did not get money from my parents past the age of 15,” she explained. “I used 100% of my own money to start the company, not a dime in my bank account is inherited … and I am very proud of that.”

Jenner, a mother-of-one, admitted while she “believed in Kylie Cosmetics,” if she’s honest she “didn’t even know what I was getting myself into.”

“It feels amazing, it’s wild, and being the youngest ever to do it is a blessing,” she said.

“I now want to focus on giving back to people and doing things that I’m passionate about.”

Convinced? Unconvinced? Too deep into Russian Doll on Netflix to be bothered arguing about it at this point? Same.
