While the Southern hemisphere is experiencing its summer months, there is no reason why one can’t wish a winter wardrobe addition waiting for them under the Christmas tree, inspired by none other than Kate Middleton.

The Duchess of Cambridge – accompanied by the Duke – wore a mid-length, pleated Emilia Wickstead tartan skirt as the pair hosted a Christmas event for military families at Kensington Palace yesterday. You can purchase the same skirt from FarFetch for just over AUD $1000. She teamed it with a black, buttoned-up Brora cardigan and black boots.

The event was for held to show support for military personnel who will be serving and thus away from their families at Christmas. Both the Duke and Duchess mingled with partners and children of those serving. A snow machine peppered snowflakes on the Royal couple while both helped guests decorate Christmas tree decorations, stockings and snow globes.
