New Girl actress Zooey Deschanel has welcomed a new boy into the world with her husband Jacob Pechenik. The 37-year-old actress, who according to PEOPLEgave birth last week and is “overjoyed”, named him Charlie Wolf, a little brother to one-year-old Elsie Otter.
Deschanel recently the publication the process of having a baby has made her mature. “I’ve never really felt like an adult,” she said. “But I think it’s a huge accomplishment t have a child so maybe I feel like an adult for that reason!”
Keeping with the couple’s love of animal names, its unsurprising Wolf is their son’s middle name. “We just really liked the name Elsie, and then we both love otters because they’re so sweet and also smart,” Deschanel said upon their daughter being born. “They use tools, they keep their favourite tools, they hold hands while they sleep. There are so many amazing things about otters. They’re wonderful animals.”
